Our Home Away From Home!
It’s been a plan for my wife Jess and I for years to find a quiet space where the world slowed down, where laughter echoed off the water, and sunsets painted the sky only mother nature could create. Earlier this year I became a co-host for my brother and Sister In-law's short term rental properties in NY and Vermont. Learning a new space in the Industry, of course I quickly fell in love with the day to day connection with the guest and building a team for each location. This spring, while visiting one of our remote NY properties, my best friend came to visit me and we were introduced to a quaint village on Lake Ontario. On a rainy Saturday, it went from a fun day of brunching to a day of exploring the local real estate landscape. We found this house, built in 1899, which was remodeled in 2020, had just gone on the market. Well, I was instantly enamored with the village and fell in love with the house! After a very intentional call, Jess and I couldn't let this one go and decided to dive in. Now, just over a month later, the little gem is ours! We named her, Harbors Landing. Landing evokes the idea of coming home, a safe place to arrive after a journey, and ties into the harbor’s function. Now, our home away from home!
The moment we stepped inside, a feeling of profound peace settled over us. It wasn't just a house; it was a feeling, an immediate sense of belonging. The way the light danced through the trees – it all spoke to me.
The excitement wasn't just for ourselves, though. As a hospitality professional, my heart swelled with the vision of sharing this magic. We imagined not only our family, but other families gathering on the spacious deck, a home where neighbors and friends become family on any occasion. I envisioned creating a true retreat where others could escape the everyday and forge their own unforgettable moments. Every detail has been intentional, from the cozy furnishings, to the spacious kitchen, everything has been chosen with immense love and the genuine desire to make every guest feel at home and their memories cherished. This isn't just a rental property; it is an extension of us, a place born of our own dream, ready to embrace others.
